For UK sole traders
Repeat work should not mean repeat paperwork.
For a sole trader with regular customers, invoicing can be necessary without needing to become a second business system. RepeatInvoice saves your supplier details, customer, line items and schedule, then creates each new invoice when it is due.
Help UK sole traders create complete recurring invoices without accounting-suite complexity.
01 · Your invoice details
Put the right identity on every invoice.
GOV.UK says a sole-trader invoice must include your name and any business name you use, plus an address where legal documents can be delivered when you use a business name. Normal invoice requirements also cover the customer, description, dates, charges and total.
Enter those supplier details during setup so they flow into every generated invoice. If you are VAT registered, add your VAT number and the applicable VAT information too.
- Your name and trading name where applicable
- Supplier and customer addresses
- Unique invoice number, invoice date and supply date
- Description, amount, VAT where applicable and total due
02 · Common repeat work
Useful wherever the customer and rhythm stay familiar.
Cleaning contracts, maintenance visits, coaching packages, rented equipment and ongoing professional services can all create predictable invoice admin. A separate repeat can hold the price and schedule for each customer.
Choose weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly timing and set payment terms in days. For a monthly date that does not exist in a shorter month, RepeatInvoice uses that month’s final day.
03 · What it is not
Recurring invoicing without an accounting migration.
You do not need to import a bank feed or move your expense records to automate a sales invoice. RepeatInvoice keeps this workflow separate and focused; it does not submit tax or VAT returns and it does not replace professional accounting advice.
Questions, answered
The useful small print.
Can a sole trader issue recurring invoices?
Yes. Each scheduled occurrence should create a fresh invoice containing the required business, customer, service, date and amount information.
Do I need to be VAT registered?
No. RepeatInvoice supports businesses that are not VAT registered as well as VAT-registered businesses. Only charge VAT when your circumstances require it.
Does RepeatInvoice file my tax return?
No. It creates and sends recurring sales invoices. Tax filing, bookkeeping and MTD submissions are outside the product’s scope.
